Andrea’s decision of choosing massage therapy as a profession became clear when her father suffered from several strokes a few years back. Receiving massage on a regular basis played a critical role in reducing her father’s pain and recovering from paralysis. Witnessing the remedial power of massage therapy her passion was born. Soon after she enrolled for the 3000 hr Registered Massage Therapy program at WCCMT and graduated with honours at the top of class.
Her treatment approach draws upon her extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology stemming from her theoretical education, her 12 years of gymnastic experience and her personal experiences with injury and rehabilitation. Her work experience includes but is not limited to working in Canuck’s Children Hospital, GF strong, UBC Varsity Cross Country and Track & Field Teams, WCCMT Multiple Sclerosis Clinic and Women’s Hospital.
Andrea’s main objective is to approach the body in a holistic manner, to address not only the area of complaint but to target the primary causes. Her treatments include a wide variety of techniques ranging from Fascial Release, Active Myofascial Release, Muscular Energy Technique, Joint mobilization, Trigger Point Therapy, Stretching, Deep Tissue Treatment and Athletic Massage.
Her future goal is to enroll into B.H.Sc. program, furthering her education for Massage Therapy by participating in the Somatic body dissection course and pursuing a diploma in Epidemiology.
